James acquired the stone in this piece--a 15.7 mm x 16.8 mm aquamarine--and had it made into a ring for his wife. The stone, being rather large, made wearing the ring uncomfortable, so James brought it to me to have it fashioned into a pendant.
The circular center piece, which is really a hemisphere, is one inch in diameter. Faceted aquamarine briolettes are used in the design to harmonize with the formal faceted stone and to keep a consistent color scheme. Handmade connectors and fasteners complete the piece, all in 18K yellow gold.
Though this was a challenge to make, the final result was worth it. May it bring many years of enjoyment to the owner.
